The Path

Rain is good,
Gloom is good.
Sadness brings happiness.

Sadness makes you better.
Gloom makes you look within,
Shade is the answer.

Shade gives you shelter,
Reality brings sadness,
Rain makes you take shelter.

Reality makes you better.
Sadness makes you wonder.
And happiness awaits...

Patch Me Up

Do you go through those hazy patches? Times when you feel like you've got to isolate yourself, stay away from the crowd and spend some quality alone time. Just go ahead and get all those superfluous things off your mind and find yourself. The real you, minus all the fancy social layers, minus that extra energy you muster up when you meet people. Just you. Calm, alone, composed. Not a worry in the world... everything's blocked out. It's so much better this way... so quiet.

Something that'll help you put yourself on the right path. Forward ho!

New Horizons

The open-mindedness to gain a refreshing new perspective on things; The ability to take the path not taken; The privilege of being able to allow yourself to pick and choose; The advantage of possessing the will to make an effort.

Reach for the stars, they say. A new sun rises. Go for it!

A dedication to my parents. For everything.

Excess Baggage

"How much does your life weigh? Imagine for a second that you're carrying a backpack. I want you to pack it with all the stuff that you have in your life... you start with the little things. The shelves, the drawers, the knickknacks, then you start adding larger stuff. Clothes, tabletop appliances, lamps, your TV... the backpack should be getting pretty heavy now. You go bigger. Your couch, your car, your home... I want you to stuff it all into that backpack. Now I want you to fill it with people. Start with casual acquaintances, friends of friends, folks around the office... and then you move into the people you trust with your most intimate secrets. Your brothers, your sisters, your children, your parents and finally your husband, your wife, your boyfriend, your girlfriend. You get them into that backpack, feel the weight of that bag. Make no mistake your relationships are the heaviest components in your life. All those negotiations and arguments and secrets, the compromises. The slower we move the faster we die. Make no mistake, moving is living. Some animals were meant to carry each other to live symbiotically over a lifetime. Star crossed lovers, monogamous swans. We are not swans. We are sharks."- Ryan Bingham, Up in the Air.

So let go.

A dedication to Up in the Air, and to all the people, places, and things I've let go of over the years.

Perspective

Some things are clear. Some things are not so clear. So focus, and look at things the way they're meant to be looked at. Hang on in there, and fight it out.

I believe that with some things, not giving up is all that matters.

A dedication to the Sar Pass trek, for all the wonderful clicks, and to Lance Armstrong, for telling us his awe-inspiring story.

One Tree Hill

I'm not the next of them, I am the first of me.
I exist, like a single tree
I plant my roots
I stand my ground.
I do my things
Things profound

I need no one,
I'm good this way
I have my fun
So, yeah...

You've got something to say?

Picture Perfect

Some things are open to interpretation. When you can't figure out what something is the first time you see it your first reaction is to play around a bit. Tilt your head this way, look at it upside down, close one eye and stare at it for a while... Different perspectives- They often help you see the obvious (although it's easier said than done :P). Patience, my friend. Things will fall into place... eventually.

Don't rush to conclusions though. Misinterpretations galore!

Mehhhh.

A tuft of hair on the chin. That calm, friendly look. Menacing horns. A guaranteed presence in any petting zoo!

Where do you think a Goatee gets its name from?

Go ahead! Sport that new look =)

Sunny Side Down

The sun sets. The end of an era. Darkness. It fades away, taking with it the last vestiges of your wonderful past. But as it all changes we move on towards more relevant, if not better, things.

Dawn is a new beginning. A different tale. So look forward to it.

The Sea-Monster

Hot solder meets water colder, and a monster rises from the steaming depths. A monster in shining armor- intricate, silver and soft.

It is here! We are doomed! The shadow awaits...

A dedication to Pirate Latitudes, and to Michael Crichton :)

There Ish Sho Mush Room

Weird post, with a weird slurry name. Weird mushrooms on a weird rotting tree stump, with a weird yellow patch of mold next to them. Very weird.

Weird enough to make me click this weird picture. By the way, you're weird for reading this.

Weird things are definitely way more interesting than you think!

A dedication to Mario, and to those healing mushrooms. (Although I don't think they have any traces of mold :P)

Give Me Five!

Colors can single-handedly make the most dreary things seem fun. For those of you who have been dropping by the blog regularly, my obsession with color won't come as a surprise. I like color. And yes, colors are fun!

For me it all started with a box of vibrant, waxy Crayola crayons. Crayon in brain? Not really... The thing is I don't use crayons anymore.

So next time you see me, please give me five!

PS : Try coloring or painting when you feel slightly put off. It helps!

A dedication to Skittles, stuff that made dad's weekend visits to the newsstand awesome for me!

The Sea-Cobra

The menacing hood as it comes rolling in, fast enough to crash into you on the shore before you can evade it. Wide enough to make sure it doesn't have to change direction, inconspicuous enough to give you a false sense of security, and evil enough to marinate you. Poor, poor you.

You'll never spot it until it's too late...The Sea-Cobra.

A water serpent that makes beach visits deadly fun!
